How to Help Your Child Love Learning

We all want our children to love learning, and this is something you can encourage from the start. Begin by building on your child's current interests: ask her questions about these subjects and provide new information. If she loves animals, take her to a zoo or aquarium and talk about what you see or read a new book about one of her favorite species. And try to let your child make choices about her activities to encourage her independence. By letting her decide and figure things out on her own, you'll help her develop Engagement and Persistence, skills that will lead to improved school attendance and achievement.

Has your toddler achieved the following Engagement and Persistence developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) she has already mastered to date!
