Self-Control
Learning Social Skills through Imitation and Dramatic Play
Your child has been gradually learning Self-Control, the ability to control and manage his behavior. One way that he's been learning it is through social interaction and pretend play. By acting out scenarios that he's seen before in real life, he's practicing social rules and roles, developing team work skills, and learning about the concept of give and take. Other ways to help him develop Self-Control are to give him 1-2 step tasks to complete on his own or model positive behavior for him to learn from and follow.
Has your child achieved the following Self-Control developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) he has already mastered to date!
