Schools of Thought: Finding the Right Preschool for Your Child's Success

Many parents start thinking of preschool when their child is about two years old. While attending preschool is not essential to your child's success, there are a number of benefits, such as learning about cooperation and sharing, using language skills, practicing self-care activities (e.g. hand-washing, caring for belongings), and building curiosity, persistence, and problem-solving skills. There are a number of programs out there for you to choose from, such as Montessori, HighScope, and Tools of the Mind. Do some research and visit classrooms to find out which program is right for your child.
