Appreciation of Community and Culture

Your Child in the Community

Your child has been learning about the roles she plays within your family, and as a 2-3 year old is becoming increasingly aware of the broader community around her. You'll see her recognize the library where you go to story hour or the supermarket where you buy your groceries. Model how to be part of the community by showing her how to greet the store clerk or hold a door open for the person behind you. By doing so, you're teaching her the written and unwritten rules of living in our society, and how to maintain social harmony.

Has your toddler achieved the following Appreciation of Community developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) she has already mastered to date!
