Receptive Language
From Words to Language: Your Child Is Learning Grammar!
All languages have grammar, a list of rules telling us in what order to put our words and how to adapt them based on other words (e.g. conjugating a verb, or rearranging things when asking a question). So far, your child has gotten by with short sentences that get her needs across without being too strict about grammar rules. However, now that she is better able to understand abstract concepts and spatial descriptions (i.e. prepositions), she will be more capable of putting together sentences with greater complexity and correct grammar use!
