The Many Ways to Learn New Words

How do you, as an adult, learn new words? You might think of running to an online dictionary or encyclopedia, but this is just one possibility. We learn many words through contextual clues, and the same goes for your child. She also learns about pronouns, plurals, and other rules of speech by the examples you set. By keeping up the reading and your conversations together, you will help add to your child's Vocabulary Knowledge.

Has your child achieved the following Vocabulary Knowledge developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) she has already mastered to date!
