Showing How It's Done: Your Child Can Be a Teacher, Too!
Your child is getting increasingly capable of doing things on his own and is reaching a related milestone: the ability to teach others how to do familiar things! He may show a younger child how to put on a jacket or use a zipper (he might also preface it by saying, "That's not how you do that!"). He may explain to a friend the rules to a certain game. If Grandma is visiting, he may tell her if she strays from the usual bedtime routine, saying, "No, I put on my pajamas and then brush my teeth!" This is a great way for him to show his independence and reinforce his knowledge of different subjects. So put him to the test and find out how much he really knows!
