As your child's language and speaking abilities grow, you'll be hearing more and more from him. Initially, he will just be expressing his wants, but as his understanding of time develops, he will also be able to tell you about past events or recall a favorite story. Did you know that this ability to tell stories, whether talking about past events or making one up, helps develop your child's language skills as well as an appreciation of reading? Be sure to support your child's storytelling by giving him your full attention to let him know his words are important to you.
