That's My Name, Don't Wear It Out! Teaching Your Child His Name and Address

Your child's memory is quite good now, and one of the important things for him to remember at this age is his full name and address! This will be critical if he ever becomes lost or separated from you. Two other good things to teach him would be your name and home or cell phone number. Remind him to share this information with a trustworthy stranger, such as a police officer, if he ever gets lost he can share your name and number with another stranger if he can't find a police officer, but it's important not to go anywhere with that person. Hopefully he will never need to use this information, but it will be a comfort to know that it's stored in his memory, ready for retrieval!

Has your child achieved the following Self-Concept developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all of the skill(s) he has already mastered to date.
