Active, Coordinated Movement
Hop, Skip, and Jump! As Your Preschooler's Coordination Improves, He Is Capable of a Wide Variety of Movements
Your child's active motor skills are continuing to improve and giving him new motions to explore. Jumping takes quite a lot of coordination and strength, and while he has been able to jump with two feet or off of low steps for a while, he may just be mastering the ability to hop on one foot multiple times. At this age, some childrenhave also figured out how to skip. Continue to encourage this active play, which will build his motor skills and set him on a course to make physical activity an important part of his daily life.
