Body Movement, Controlled Movement

On the Road to Crawling

Your baby will soon be able to push away the supports and sit on his own, as his muscles grow stronger and he develops his Body Movement and Controlled Movement skills. These same muscles someday will allow him to change position on his own, from laying down to sitting to crawling. During tummy time, he may push up onto his hands and knees and rock back and forth; soon he'll figure out the motions he needs to start crawling. While he's not ready to stand on his own, if you hold him he'll be able to support his weight with his legs, looking around to enjoy the new position or bouncing in place. Either way, hang on tight!

Has your baby achieved the following Body Movement and Controlled Movement developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) he has already mastered to date!
