Object Permanence

I Can't See You... But I Know You're Still There!

Until they reach six to nine months old, babies don't understand Object Permanence, the idea that out-of-sight objects still exist. Once your baby makes this connection, you may have to contend with separation anxiety, but her self-soothing abilities will also be improving and her memory will be growing. She'll even start to anticipate parts of your daily routine as well as enjoy games such as peek-a-boo!

Has your baby achieved the following Object Permanence developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) she has already mastered to date!
