Your Baby Learning about Everyday Objects

By one years old, your baby, who arrived in this world as a blank slate, has gained so much Knowledge of Everyday Objects. Through observation, exploration, and imitation (of you!), she knows that cups are for drinking, spoons are for eating, and brushes are for untangling hair. You'll start to see her take part in simple imaginative play, like stirring an empty bowl or holding your phone to her ear. Build her knowledge and vocabulary by demonstrating how to use different objects, and talking about what you're doing in detail.
