Expressive Language

Hey Baby, Let's Talk!

Already, within the first few weeks of life, your baby will start to copy your facial expressions and sounds. She won't be talking for a while yet, but the tempo and tone of her babbles will actually start to match that of real speech. You'll also notice her beginning to use gestures and facial expressions. How wonderful it is to see those first smiles (and all subsequent ones), but it can be distressing to see a little frown turn into a wail! Take heart, though; as your baby tries to communicate with you, you will learn to recognize what she's trying to tell you over time.

Has your baby achieved the following Expressive Language developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) she has already mastered to date!
