Cooperation

Time to Share!

As your baby's second year opens, he'll be more and more interested in the other people and children around him. Though not ready for cooperative play, he may be interested in playing in the same area as other children, noticing and being influenced by what they are doing. Even though he is really still playing on his own, this will teach him about the rhythm of play and help him be more prepared for sharing and Cooperation later on. Be on hand to help resolve conflicts, though, that may come up as children vie for the same toy. When he's playing with other children, make sure to have a variety of toys available, and perhaps keep a favorite to one side to help in the event of a conflict.

Has your baby achieved the following Cooperation developmental milestones yet? If yes, check off all the skill(s) he has already mastered to date!
