Learning About Body Parts: Where’s Your Tummy?

Learning different body parts is a key developmental milestone for your one-year-old toddler. Where’s Your Tummy?, an activity for Playful Bee for 12 to 18-month-old children, can walk you through an adorable and simple way to support his learning.

Directions:

  1. Name body parts. Have your child sit on your lap, facing you. Point to one of your body parts, like your tummy, and name it.
  2. Encourage him to copy you. Ask your child to point to the same body part on his body. If he does not point to it, help him a little by gently moving his hand to the body part.
  3. Repeat. Do these same actions with other parts. Remember to say each name slowly and with emphasis.

  • Points to at least 3 body parts when named.
